Spinal twist - Jathara parivartanasana

Jathara parivartanasana A is a yoga twist that rejuvenates and re-energizes the body, relieves stress and fatigue, and lengthens and realigns the spine. The name is derived from the Sanskrit jathar, meaning "abdomen," parivarta, meaning "turning," and asana, meaning "pose."

In this pose, the practitioner lies flat on the back with the arms spread perpendicular to the body and the palms facing down. The knees bend toward the chest, then move to one side on an exhale as the head turns the opposite direction to gaze at the fingertips. This is all then repeated on the opposite side.

Jathara parivartanasana A is commonly referred to as belly twist A or spinal twist A in English.
